Day 21 Everyday Watercolor

Image
Here's the exercise Day 21 from Jenna Rainey's Everyday Watercolor book: I should have made the bird a bit smaller so I could make the beak longer in hindsight. My paper is 5 x 7'' though, and I didn't want to make it too too small because I knew I would struggle with the eye. In the end, I drew in the eye with a waterproof pen because I couldn't get a thin enough line when I tried to on my test paper. The beak otherwise turned out better than I'd hoped and I like the feather effect you get just painting in little curves. This was a fun day. I will look forward to tomorrow.

Day 3   Day 4   Day 5 Leaves were fun to do, though I still didn't have much control.   Day 6 I was starting to get the hang of things a bit more.    I felt like doing more this day so I followed a tutorial by Makoccino . It was a lot of fun. Day 7 Gotta love happy little trees. Still struggling to get the right amount of water. Hence the cauliflower effect at the bottom of the tree.   Day 8 ...
